Medical AssistantHot JobColorado Springs Pikes Peak Location - Colorado Springs, CO 80909 End Date 09/25/2026OverviewSalary Range $19.25 - $22.14 Hourly Position Type Full TimeDescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant prepares rooms for exams; receives participants in the medical clinic; takes and documents vital signs and weights; receives brief medical history regarding reason for visit from participants; assist in overall participant care.MISSION: Improving lives, Optimizing wellness, Promoting independenceCOMPETENCIES:Technical ExpertiseProblem SolvingTeamworkEffective CommunicationResults OrientedPersonal CredibilityQuality FocusPeople FocusFlexibilityRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Prepares equipment and rooms for examination of participantsTakes vital signs and weights of participants; record information in electronic medical recordTakes brief history of reason for visitMonitors participants and reports any variances to normal to the Clinic Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Physician for further assessmentMaintains the confidentiality of all company procedures, results, and information about participants, clients or familiesHandles potentially infectious specimens with appropriate biohazard precautions, and practices universal precautionsTravel to all clinic sites as needed to support clinic coverage needsPhlebotomy services as needed, to include venipuncture, processing specimens and prepare specimens appropriately for laboratory pick upOther duties as requested/assignedQualificationsGraduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is requiredPreferred Certified or Registered as a Medical Assistant with one of the National Certifying organizations; The American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), The American Medical Technologists (RMA), The National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), The National HealthCareer Association (CCMA), and National Association for Health Professionals (NRCMA). The employee will be expected to take and pass a Medical Assistant examination from one of the above listed Certifying Agencies within or immediately upon completing 640 hours (4 months) of employment.
