Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 2 years License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: 1 year of rehabilitation experience Description: Start date: ASAP. First time travelers are welcome. Every other weekend availability is required. Daily patient ratio: 5 patients. The average daily census is 8. The unit consists of 7 rooms with a total of 14 beds. Floating may be required to other units. Call may be required depending on patient census. No more than 7 days of time off will be accepted. Patients typically participate in 3 hours of therapy daily, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology. Candidates must be experienced in charting using a specific electronic health record system. Previous charge experience is preferred. References are required covering one year of experience within the last three years. Responsibilities include providing care and management for patients with various conditions such as stroke, brain injury, and orthopedic conditions. Skills required include administration of blood products, pain assessment and management, fall risk assessment, and wound care. Specialty care involves additional procedures related to tracheostomy management and catheter care. Successful candidates will demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Candidates must be willing to float between facilities as required. Travelers may be expected to work during major holidays.
