Lab Technician

Job Description A client is seeking a lab technician in the Livingston, NJ area. The ideal candidate will have at least one year experience (academic or industry) working in a lab environment. They will be on a team of about 10 other technicians. This team is responsible for genetic testing of gene disorders. This individual will be responsible for logging and tracking patient samples for both genomics carrier screening and molecular lab single gene samples, preparing samples for testing and purifying sample DNA, participating in research projects on alternative molecular approaches of gene testing and gene expression analysis such as Karyomapping, performing SNP based assay, and documenting results. Other tasks include coordination, communication and collaboration with other members of the team. This role will be a Saturday-Wednesday 10am-6:30pm shift. Skills and Requirements Internship, academic, or working experience in a lab Motivated & determined attitude, ability to work and collaborate with a team-Undergraduate degree in Biology, Micro-Biology, Bio-Chemistry, Genetics or related fields-Sanger sequencing experience-SNP based assay experience-Previous PCR experience-Experience working with a 37-30 or 3500 genetic analyzer We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
