Hourly rate ranges from $16.86 - $19.72 depending on education and experience. Eligible for medical insurance (no dental or vision). 180 Days. 6.75 Hours

Position Title: Job Coach Carmel High School / Special Services Supervisor: Special Education Transition Coordinator Date: 2019-2020 Terms of Employment: 182 Days Non-Exempt

Primary Function: To work with special needs students to develop vocational skills in the school and community

Representative Essential Duties:

• Develop relationships with community business partners for paid or volunteer student placements
• Implement strategies to help students work independently when needed (i.e. picture schedules, task lists, etc.)
• Keep clear and concise documentation of communication with student, parent and teacher regarding job related issues and progress of the student
• Develop task analysis for each job placement
• Train the student to perform the job with the end goal being student independence
• While training the student, facilitate the development of natural supports within the business setting so that the student is successful once support is faded from the site
• Check in weekly to see how the student is performing at the job site, once the student is working alone
• Attend case conferences when needed to report on vocational status
• Other tasks as assigned by the Transition Coordinator

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Experience with special needs population preferred but not a requirement
• Good organizational skills
• Good communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work in an extremely collaborative environment
• Valid Indiana Driver's License
• Must pass pre-employment criminal history check

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently stand, sit, walk, talk and hear. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck, stoop, bend, pull and push. Duties of this job require the employee to maintain emotional control under stress.

Working Relationships: Work closely with students, supervisor, parents and a number of other professionals

Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements: Regular school hours. Mileage reimbursement. Work days when students attend school.
