Clinical Nurse

The Clinical Nurse provides comprehensive care for perioperative patients. Utilizing the nursing process, the role includes assessment, formulation of nursing diagnoses, planning interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes. The Operating Room clinical nurse is expected to circulate in various specialty areas, including Orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, General, Ophthalmology, and Dental. Obtaining scrubbing experience is highly encouraged, and the clinician must be prepared to work varied and odd hours when on call, particularly for emergency cases on short notice.

Shift Information

This position requires 10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, four shifts per week, plus on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nurse experience, including operating room practical experience.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Valid, current, full, and unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice nursing in any U.S. state, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• Current certifications required throughout employment:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (to be obtained within six months of hire)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) within one year of hire
• Trauma Nurse Core Courses (TNCC) within two years of hire
