Date: Jul 16, 2026 Agency: Children and Families Location: FT LAUDERDALE, FL, US, 33309 Overview This position is a regional role housed in Fort Lauderdale. The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) oversees services for child safety, fostering, adoption, domestic violence, adult protective services, refugees, homelessness, mental health, substance abuse, childcare providers, human trafficking, and public assistance. The Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH) is responsible for administering all publicly funded substance abuse and mental health services. The candidate will serve as an OPS Monitoring and Technical Assistance Analyst, collaborating with program office sections and using independent judgment to carry out duties. Responsibilities Provide technical assistance to Regional and HQ SAMH staff, Managing Entities, stakeholders, professional organizations, and other state agencies in person. Serve as a subject matter expert on the Managing Entity Continuing Oversight Team as specified in Section 287.057(26), if applicable. Conduct compliance technical assistance and monitoring activities, ensuring technical training is provided related to SAMH programs. Lead regional Readiness Monitoring. Conduct compliance monitoring of subrecipients, including developing monitoring plans, scope of monitoring tools, and documenting monitoring activities and outcomes. Subrecipient monitoring may include desk reviews or onsite visits. Draft, route, and track correspondence. Perform other duties as required to meet program and departmental goals. Emergency Response Respond to emergency events, working irregular hours, extended periods, or in alternative locations. Deploy to communities affected by natural disasters within 24‑48 hours to represent the organization and implement post‑disaster services. Assess impact, needs, and assist with development of response strategy and goals for the impacted community. Coordinate psychological and mental health resources for individuals, first responders, and communities. Provide critical information to the Regional Director and Director of Regional Operations and Initiatives. Qualifications Two years of experience in behavioral services. One year of experience writing formal business communications, including emails. Two years of experience implementing and managing complex projects. Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, public administration, or public health, or four years of professional experience in related fields. Professional experience can substitute for the preferred education on a year‑for‑year basis.
