About the Role

The Company is in search of a Senior Regulatory Counsel with a focus on chemicals. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal counsel on a range of chemical regulatory matters, including compliance with the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and related EPA regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of chemical classification, transportation rules, and the ability to partner with internal chemical regulatory professionals to offer strategic guidance on complex regulatory frameworks. Key responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting chemical regulations, supporting the preparation of Safety Data Sheets and Technical Data Sheets, advising on chemical approvals and reporting requirements, and counseling on EHS regulatory matters. Applicants for this position should have a J.D. from an accredited law school, active bar membership, and 5-12+ years of experience in chemical regulatory, environmental regulatory, or EHS law. Expertise in TSCA, EPA regulations, and OSHA requirements is essential, as is experience in manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or related industries. The role also involves cross-functional collaboration, so strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with technical teams are necessary. A background in chemical engineering, chemistry, or technical chemical work is a bonus. The ideal candidate will be adept at providing nuanced, risk-based counsel and be able to translate regulatory requirements into practical options for the business.
