Instructor, Nursing Assistant (Part-time)

Under the direction of the Nursing Program Director, the successful candidate will develop and teach courses across MATC campuses, business and community sites, and online. Duties also include participation in department and advisory meetings, curriculum development, staff development, student advising, assessment, recruitment, and other tasks as assigned. Responsibilities Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching‑related activities. Manage the classroom or laboratory environment. Develop, monitor, and revise curriculum to maintain course effectiveness. Manage equipment, supplies, and materials. Assess student performance. Advise students on academic issues. Collaborate with advisory committees in program and department areas. Attend departmental and institutional meetings. Promote the education/training program and participate in recruitment and retention efforts. Support student organizations and activities. Develop relationships with business and industry partners. Complete program and department evaluations and follow‑up. Maintain certification, continue professional development, and stay current in the field. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate’s degree or higher in Nursing. Minimum of two (2) years of full‑time or equivalent experience as a Registered Nurse. At least one (1) year of verifiable work experience in a long‑term care or nursing home setting. Prior teaching experience in nursing (Practical, Registered or Nursing Assistant coursework) preferred. Ability to develop and maintain a current curriculum. Experience with a variety of instructional methods, including face‑to‑face, blended, and online formats. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and a learning management system such as Blackboard. Knowledge of assessment of student academic competency attainment. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to relate to students and staff of diverse backgrounds. Current, unencumbered registered nurse license issued by the State of Wisconsin. Completion of institutional approval within thirty (30) days of hire by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Health & Physical Requirements Must satisfactorily complete the School of Health Science health requirements, including background check, drug test, and immunizations. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to sit or stand for the duration of classes. Work Schedule & Compensation Part‑time faculty pool position; assignments not guaranteed and vary by semester. Instructional modalities: in‑person, online, and/or hybrid. Teaching times: daytime, evening, and/or weekend classes. Starting hourly wage: $40 per course hour; additional compensation for prep and office hours is $70 per hour. Essential Technology Skills Experience with email and voicemail systems (Gmail, Outlook). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace. Experience with online information management systems, Blackboard Ultra, and technology‑based instructional delivery (e.g., SMART boards, touch‑screen monitors, projectors). Knowledge of emerging technologies such as social networking applications.
