Managing Director, Head of Originations

Role Overview

DLP Capital is hiring a Managing Director, Head of Originations, to lead a high-performing team providing commercial real estate financing solutions to sponsors, focused on transactions ranging from $10 million to $100 million (not retail lending). The role is central to executing DLP's growth strategy in loan origination.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a team-oriented player-coach, developing and leading a group of skilled commercial loan origination professionals while maintaining a personal book of business
• Set ambitious growth targets and manage business plans for the origination team, overseeing origination strategy and market execution
• Expert in structuring and negotiating complex loans, including mezzanine financing and preferred equity, with emphasis on ground-up development, construction, and value-add strategies for residential assets such as multifamily, build-to-rent, manufactured housing, and master-planned communities
• Guide the team in pursuing new loan origination opportunities and maintain client-focused relationships with active sponsors
• Leverage the firm's vertically integrated resources to deliver creative, fast, and reliable financing solutions

Qualifications

• Over 15 years of progressive experience in commercial real estate investment and lending
• Proven leadership in growing sales and origination teams, with the ability to coach and manage a geographically dispersed workforce
• In-depth knowledge of credit, underwriting, valuation, and structured finance
• Expertise in financing construction, development, or improvement of single-family, multifamily, and mixed-use properties
• Track record of growing and managing a dispersed portfolio of real estate assets
