Electrical Field Service TechnicianWe are actively hiring Field Service Technicians (Level II–IV) specializing in electrical power systems testing. This role supports acceptance and maintenance testing of medium- and high-voltage equipment across utility, industrial, and data center environments.This posting is structured to support NETA-certified technicians and NICET EPT-certified professionals operating at equivalent levels.We are targeting:NETA IINETA IIINETA IVCandidates without NETA may qualify if they meet the following:Demonstrated field experience aligned to NETA scopeAbility to sit for and pass the equivalent NETA exam within a defined timeframeTypical alignment:NICET EPT II ? NETA IV equivalentThis is a key screening lever for recruiters, if unsure, default to: "Can this candidate realistically pass the corresponding NETA level exam within 6–12 months?"Core hiring markets (NETA or equivalent):Raleigh, NCDallas, TXPhoenix, AZCompensation (anchor for recruiters):NETA Level II (or ~2–4 yrs experience): $35 – $60/hourNETA Level III (or ~5–8 yrs experience): $65 – $75/hourNETA Level IV (Senior / SME / Lead): $75 – $85+/hourAdditional comp notes:Typical per diem: ~$127/day (based on General Services Administration guidelines)Most clients provide: company card OR reimbursed expenses, travel coverage (lodging, flights, rental)What they'll be doing:Perform acceptance and maintenance testing per NETA standardsTest and troubleshoot: switchgear (LV/MV), transformers, breakers, relays / protection systemsExecute LOTO and safety procedures (NFPA 70E)Analyze test results and identify deficienciesGenerate field reports and documentationSupport or lead field teams depending on levelLeadership expectations by level:Level II: Executes testing with supervisionLevel III: Leads small crews, owns portions of projectsLevel IV: SME / Lead Tech, client-facing, project ownershipMust-have qualifications:2–8+ years of electrical testing experience (level dependent)Strong understanding of power distribution systemsFamiliarity with: NETA standards, NFPA 70EAbility to travel (~50%)Valid driver's licensePreferred:NETA Certification (II–IV)OR NICET EPT Certification (II–IV)OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, PowerDBWhat "good" looks like (for recruiters):Hands-on testing experience (not just electrical maintenance)Exposure to medium/high voltage systemsExperience with test equipment (Megger, Doble, Omicron, etc.)Ability to explain testing procedures and resultsScreening shortcut (use this):"What kind of equipment have you tested?""What voltage levels have you worked on?""Have you worked under NETA standards or similar?""Could you pass a NETA II/III/IV exam if required?"If they struggle here ? likely not a fit.Travel & work conditions:Up to 50% travel (varies by project)Overtime available depending on project scopeField-based work (industrial, utility, data centers)
