Payroll Clerk

The Payroll Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of district payroll, employee benefits, and leave tracking systems. This position oversees payroll processing, tax reporting, employee leave accounting, and compliance with federal and state regulations while coordinating employee benefit programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and pension reporting. The Payroll Clerk serves as the district’s primary contact for employee compensation, benefits enrollment, leave balances, retirement reporting, and payroll-related inquiries. Qualifications Associate’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, human resources, or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of three years of payroll, benefits, accounting, human resources, or school business office experience preferred. Experience with Illinois public school payroll systems, TRS, IMRF, employee benefits administration, and leave tracking strongly preferred.
