About the Team We are hiring a Senior Claims Specialist – Primary Casualty for our North America Claim Team. The role involves managing primary claims for AXIS U.S. Primary Casualty policies and evaluating complex liability third‑party claims. What Will You Do In This Role? Evaluate complex claims to determine appropriate settlement strategies and ensure adherence to company policies. Ensure timely evaluation, reserving, and disposition of assigned claims. Mentor junior claims adjusters, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development. Utilize knowledge of the legal frameworks and claims handling practices relevant to the jurisdictions in which the claims arise, including Construction and New York Labor Law. Document coverage, investigation, damages, reserve rationale, negotiations, and other claim details. Review contracts for risk transfer evaluations, coverage analysis, and tender review. Investigate potentially fraudulent claims and take appropriate action. Identify opportunities for contribution, subrogation, and contribution to the claim. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in evaluating and resolving complex claims within various jurisdictions. Ability to mentor and develop the professional skills of junior adjusters. Prior experience handling New York Labor Law, Product Liability, and Complex Litigation claims. Experience in drafting coverage correspondence and writing coverage letters. Skillful negotiation of settlements with various stakeholders to achieve equitable solutions. Ability to recommend and justify the use of outside counsel in complex claims situations. Adept at networking and building relationships within professional and market associations. Track record of adhering to and enforcing company policies and procedures in claims processing. Role Factors This role requires on‑site presence in the office three days per week and adherence to AXIS licensing requirements. What We Offer We expect a base salary in the range of $105,000 – $160,000, with compensation based on experience and location.
