Staff Accountant - Hybrid (San Antonio, TX)

Pay:  $35.00/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (40 hrs/week)
Work Setup:   Hybrid — Remote  Monday & Friday ; On-site  Tuesday–Thursday
Job Type: Temporary (approx. 12 months; potential conversion)

Position Summary

We’re hiring a  Staff Accountant to support general accounting and tax-related functions including reconciliations, reporting, compliance, and process documentation. This role partners with internal teams to ensure accurate financial data and timely completion of assigned deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Perform general accounting tasks including  journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Support  month-end and year-end close activities
• Assist with  internal controls and  SOX compliance
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner
• Support tax-related work including  sales & use tax and property tax activities (data compilation, review, and coordination)
• Provide taxability guidance and assist with tax research as needed
• Draft and maintain  desktop procedures and documentation
• Assist with audits and respond to internal inquiries
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting/Finance preferred)
• 2–5 years accounting/finance experience
• Strong Excel skills ( VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, charts ) and Word skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• ERP experience required
• Preferred: CPA, Sabrix/Vertex, BI/BW, Lean Six Sigma
