Summer Camp Counselor (Seasonal, Full-Time) Early Steps Learning Center (ESLC) – Summer Adventure Camp 2026 Join ESLC’s Summer Adventure Camp 2026 as a full-time seasonal Summer Camp Counselor, working with children ages 5–12. This 10-week program (June 1 – August 7) offers a fun, structured, and team-oriented environment where you’ll lead engaging activities, build meaningful relationships, and create a memorable summer experience for campers. Opportunities may be available to continue employment in the fall through before/after school programs. Program Overview 10-week summer camp program with weekly themed experiences. Focus on active play, creativity, teamwork, and exploration. Activities Sports & group games Arts & crafts STEM projects Team‑building challenges and themed events Key Responsibilities Supervise, ensure safety of 10–18 campers at all times. Plan, organize, and lead age‑appropriate activities and group games. Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging camp environment. Support children’s social, emotional, and creative development. Maintain accurate attendance and activity records. Follow all licensing, safety, and emergency procedures. Communicate effectively with team members and leadership. Assist with daily setup, cleanup, and transitions between activities. Qualifications Minimum 18 years of age. High School Diploma. At least 1 year of childcare, camp, or youth program experience. Passion for working with school‑age children. Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. Ability to engage and manage groups of children effectively. Must pass background check and screening requirements. Preferred (Not Required) Previous summer camp or school‑age program experience. Experience leading group activities or lesson plans. Coursework in education, recreation, or child development. Physical Requirements Ability to stay active throughout the day. Participate in outdoor activities in varying weather conditions. Lift, assist, and actively engage with children as needed. Stand, walk, and move frequently during camp hours. Schedule & Compensation Full-time, seasonal (June 1 – August 7, 2026). Pay: $17.00 – $18.50 per hour (based on experience). No benefits for seasonal role. Potential opportunity for continued employment in the fall. Why Join ESLC?
