Operations Manager - Stone / Marble Fabrication Responsibilities Select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees. Work closely with GM and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation. Develop operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements. Develop, implement, enforce, and evaluate policies and procedures for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations. Meet or exceed operations labor budget expectations Perform analysis of inventory and ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively, purchasing the right equipment, maintaining solid inventory data, and reducing sub‑contractors' expenses. Serve as a primary point of contact when there is customer issues related to equipment quality, customer service, or accidents and mishaps on‑site. Safeguards all company property against theft or damage including but not limited to computers, electronic equipment, phones, gas cards, trucks, and tools. Track employees’ skills set and levels and ensure proper training and cross‑training of employees to achieve maximum productivity and labor utilization. Conduct quality inspections on completed work Assist with various other duties as needed. Qualifications Must be able to pass a drug test. High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred. Technical background working with natural stone and quartz fabrication. Experience and familiarity with blueprints, sketches, models, or project descriptions. A minimum of 3 years of management experience with a minimum of 5 direct reports. Knowledge of fabrication production management. Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations. Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts. Experience in reporting on key production metrics. Experience with CNC Saw & Routers and hand power saw, grinders and polishers. Proficient in MS Office, Alpha Cam and Auto CAD. Good active learning, time management, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible hours and handle heavy material. Ability to speak fluent English, read, understand, and follow both verbal and written instructions. Strong attention to measurements and details. Frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
