Description

Logistics company in Morris, Illinois is looking to hire a full time Forklift and Facility Maintenance employee. The nature of the Forklift and Facility Maintenance position involves a variety of facilities related tasks, such as: external/internal building repairs, preventative maintenance and safety and licensing concerns.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the below:

• Performs general maintenance and repairs on equipment, fixtures, systems, and facilities in support of overall building operations.
• Ability to diagnose and perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs on a variety of powered industrial equipment .
• General carpentry and repair of facility structures as well as minor plumbing work.
• Perform monthly preventative maintenance visits for each assigned area.
• Order materials, update and/or create work orders and provide status updates.
• Maintain fleet of 70+ electric forklifts
• Coordinate with vendors to schedule maintenance work
• Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requires completion of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

• 5+ years’ experience performing general maintenance and repairs on forklifts is required
• 2+ years related facility maintenance experience is required
• Technical skills and knowledge of general industrial maintenance – electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fabrication, machining, carpentry, plumbing, air conditioning and heating
• Basic computer skills are required for researching needed parts & supply orders
• Welding experience required
• High school diploma or GED required
