Pediatric Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

When a Child Arrives in the ER, Clinical Judgment and Compassion Matter Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking experienced RNs to join our Pediatric Emergency Department, providing emergency care to infants, children, and adolescents in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

We're looking for nurses who can rapidly assess a pediatric patient, recognize subtle changes in condition, respond confidently in an emergency, and support families during some of their most stressful moments.

What You'll Do

• Perform rapid pediatric triage and focused clinical assessments
• Provide emergency nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents
• Initiate and support airway management, IV/IO access, medication administration, and resuscitation
• Continuously reassess patients and respond to changes in condition
• Assist with pediatric medical emergencies and trauma cases
• Provide compassionate, family-centered care
• Collaborate with pediatric emergency physicians and the multidisciplinary team
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program; BSN preferred Current New York State RN license 23 years of recent Pediatric Emergency Department experience preferred Strong consideration given to experienced RNs with adult Emergency Department experience involving significant pediatric volume or PICU/high-acuity pediatric critical care experience Current AHA BLS and PALS certifications required; ACLS preferred Strong pediatric assessment, triage, critical-thinking, and emergency response skills Ability to function effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations Compensation & Benefits $58.21/hour + applicable differentials + full 1199 SEIU Union benefits, including healthcare, retirement benefits, paid time off, and more.
