Location: Hybrid with three (3) days required at 232 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10016, unless traveling as required to perform duties associated with your position. Position Overview The Social Media Manager is a hands-on executor who lives and breathes social media. This role owns the daily publishing of content across all PopUp Bagels platforms, from feed posts to story responses, and ensures the brand shows up consistently, creatively, and on time. Reporting to and working closely with the VP of Marketing, this person brings a scrappy, high-energy approach to content, jumping into trends, engaging with our community in real time, and turning everyday moments into compelling brand content. This is a role for someone who loves to execute, built for someone who is deeply fluent in social and motivated by the process of building something great. This role will also work closely with our Manager, Creator & Talent Partnerships, who owns social media strategy and content for our brand and creator partnerships, ensuring a consistent brand voice and a coordinated content calendar across both functions. The Social Media Manager directly manages the Social Media Coordinator and oversees social media across all PopUp Bagels franchise and local store accounts, including local TikTok accounts, ensuring consistency with the national brand voice and content standards. Social Media Execution Own the day-to-day publishing of content across all social platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and others as relevant. Manage and respond to story interactions, DMs, comments, and community engagement in the brand voice, promptly and authentically. Oversee social media across all PopUp Bagels franchise and local store accounts, including establishing and maintaining local TikTok accounts. Execute the content calendar, ensuring posts go out on time and align with brand campaigns, product moments, and cultural trends. Stay ahead of platform trends, algorithm changes, memes, and emerging formats, and move fast to capitalize on them. Capture and edit content in the field at store openings, events, and brand moments, including video, photo, and real-time stories. Write sharp, on-brand captions and copy for all social posts. Monitor brand mentions and community sentiment, escalating issues as needed. Content & Analytics Collaborate with the marketing and creative teams to develop and execute platform-native content ideas. Bring fresh, scrappy creative ideas to the table and execute them quickly. Ensure all content reflects the PopUp Bagels visual identity, brand voice, and tone. Edit short-form video content (Reels, TikToks) for publishing. Track weekly and monthly performance metrics across platforms (engagement, reach, follower growth). Share insights and learnings with the VP of Marketing to inform content decisions. Test content formats and report on what’s working. Cross-Functional Support and Leadership Coordinate with Marketing, Communications, and Retail teams to support product launches, promotions, and company initiatives. Attend and help cover events, grand openings, and activations for live content capture. Partner closely with the Manager, Creator & Talent Partnerships to align on brand voice, avoid content overlap, and ensure a cohesive social presence across all PopUp Bagels accounts. Work cross-functionally with the Partnerships team to develop and execute social content supporting brand and product launches. Directly manage the Social Media Coordinator workflow and projects to ensure consistent execution and brand alignment. Experience and Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field, or equivalent experience. 2-5 years of previous experience managing social media for a brand, agency, or creator—or a demonstrated track record of building and growing social accounts. 1–3 years of managerial experience or experience leading teams. Deep, native-level fluency across Instagram, TikTok, and other major platforms. Strong writing skills with the ability to craft engaging, on-brand captions and copy. Ability to shoot, edit, and produce short-form video content (CapCut, InShot, or similar). Highly responsive, organized, and able to manage multiple content streams simultaneously. Creative eye with a strong instinct for what performs on social. Comfortable being on-site at events and capturing real-time content. Self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment. Physical Requirements This is primarily a light-duty role performed in an office or remote work environment. Prolonged periods working at a computer or on a mobile device. Ability to travel for events, grand openings, and content capture. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion for events or shipping content equipment. Ability to move through store and event environments, which may require standing and moderate physical activity.
