Human Resources Director

We are seeking a strategic HR Director to lead our human resources initiatives with a primary focus on evaluating, negotiating, and managing vendors for healthcare, insurance, 401(k), HR technology, and other employee services. This role identifies cost-saving opportunities, improves vendor performance, and leads the transition and implementation of new services. The HR Director partners closely with executive leadership, Finance, and Payroll to ensure vendor programs are cost-effective, efficient, and fully aligned with organizational needs. Key Responsibilities We are seeking a strategic HR Director to lead our human resources initiatives with a primary focus on evaluating, negotiating, and managing vendors for healthcare, insurance, 401(k), HR technology, and other employee services. This role identifies cost-saving opportunities, improves vendor performance, and leads the transition and implementation of new services. The HR Director partners closely with executive leadership, Finance, and Payroll to ensure vendor programs are cost-effective, efficient, and fully aligned with organizational needs. Healthcare & Insurance Programs Oversee comprehensive employee insurance programs, including healthcare, dental, vision, life, and disability. Partner with brokers and carriers to evaluate plan options, pricing, renewals, and alternative structures. Analyze claims, utilization, and premium data to uncover cost-saving opportunities and alternative benefits strategies. Ensure benefits vendors and brokers consistently meet contractual and service expectations. Retirement & 401(k) Programs Manage relationships with 401(k) providers, recordkeepers, investment advisors, and retirement plan vendors. Evaluate administrative fees, investment options, and overall plan performance to reduce costs. Coordinate plan transitions, documentation, and compliance activities with appropriate advisors. Vendor Implementation & Transitions Serve as the primary HR project lead for transitioning services and systems from one vendor to another. Develop implementation timelines, project plans, deliverables, and robust risk contingency plans. Coordinate cross-functional integration activities, data transfers, testing, and validation before new systems go live. Strategic HR Leadership Partner with executive leadership to develop data-driven HR strategies, budgets, and metrics that support overarching company objectives. Maintain financial discipline while identifying opportunities to elevate the employee experience. Support broader HR initiatives, compliance, organizational development, and employee relations as needed. Position Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred. 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with a heavy emphasis on employee benefits, vendor management, and HR programs. Demonstrated expertise in evaluating and negotiating complex vendor contracts and service agreements. Direct experience leading major vendor implementations or organizational transitions strongly preferred. Core Competencies Strong financial and analytical skills, with proven ability to evaluate pricing structures and drive cost-saving initiatives. Excellent project management, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to consult effectively with executive leadership, external brokers, vendors, and internal teams. Solid understanding of employment practices, benefits administration, compliance, and modern HRIS/HR technology systems. Key Performance Expectations Deliver meaningful, measurable cost savings while improving vendor performance and service levels. Successfully complete vendor transitions and tech implementations on time and with minimal business disruption.
