AUTOMOTIVE SMOG TECHNICIAN & SAFETY INSPECTOR FOR AUTO REPAIR SHOP

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

SMOG CHECK

Perform smog inspections (OIS/EIS) on all vehicle types
Keep inspections clean, honest, and by the book — we protect our STAR rating
Greet customers and keep wait times short
Light shop upkeep between cars

SAFETY INSPECTION

Body structure
Brakes and lights
Passenger compartment
Steering and suspension
Tires and wheels
A scan of on-board diagnostics system
A check for open safety recalls
A road test

MUST HAVES:

CA Smog Inspector License (EO/EI) — REQUIRED, current
CA Vehicle Safety Systems Technician License - REQUIRED, current
- Suspension and steering (A4)
- Brakes (A5)
- Electrical/electronic systems (A6)
Clean BAR record
Reliable, shows up on time, works well solo
Repair license
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
