Grant Accounting Analyst

Soni is partnering with a leading Nonprofit organization to hire a Grants & Contracts Manager responsible for overseeing a team that manages grant budgeting, billing, modifications, and closeouts. This role ensures timely submission of invoices and reports to City, State, Federal, and private funders, while collaborating closely with internal departments such as Payroll, FP&A, and Accounting. The Manager plays a key leadership role in cross-functional meetings and supports financial compliance across multiple funding source. Responsibilities Manage full lifecycle of assigned grants and contracts, from registration to closeout, ensuring compliance with funder requirements. Prepare and submit vouchers, billing packages, and reports to government and private funders; track receivables and balances and follow up on outstanding A/R. Enter grant budgets in funder systems and ensure revenues/expenditures are recorded in correct GL accounts. Analyze and reconcile program general ledger accounts, verify reimbursement limits, and perform spending checks. Generate Excel schedules, forecasts, and control reports; provide financial analysis for programs and new funding opportunities. Support annual audits and program-specific audits; assist FP&A with budget narratives and new budget development. Monitor subcontractor agreements, invoices, payments, and reporting to ensure contract compliance. Maintain high accuracy and organization while managing multiple deadlines; elevate critical issues appropriately. Utilize advanced Excel, FE (or similar accounting systems), and Microsoft Office for reporting and analysis. Requirements BA/BS degree required, with a focus in Finance, Accounting, or related field At least one year of experience involving the analytical research and reporting of complex financial data Nonprofit experience preferred Advance Excel skills and ability to analyze large volumes of data Proficient in MicrosoftOffice Suite or related software Extremely organized and ability to respond to internal and external requests Experience working with FE or similar accounting software Understanding of grants and billing practices and laws Understand when to scale critical time sensitive issues Demonstrate a commitment to quality, accuracy, and thoroughness Versatile in handling multiple tasks simultaneously in accordance with highest priority Ability to meet deadlines, which may require a flexible schedule, as extended working hours may be required during month-end and year-end Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills Compensation: $30-35/hr Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
