Senior DevOps EngineerPlano, TX | Hybrid ContractorThis Cloud Infrastructure (DevOps) Engineer will create, maintain, support and improve complex cloud operations for a cutting edge microservice based platform. Ideal candidates will apply their knowledge in a highly-energized, fast-paced, and innovative environment while working on the client's product. This is a progressive and collaborative environment; therefore, it is essential that not only the skillset, but the passion for the above is a fit.Responsibilities:Proactively identify performance improvements in areas like responsiveness, availability and scaleManage, evolve and build CI/CD pipelineMaintain, support and build out infrastructure and services currently operating on AWS, GCP, other providersCreatively solve technical issuesDeliver solutions in a complex environment including fixed wireline networking and wireless with distributed systems and applicationsAssist in building world-class, multi-cloud capable, state-of-the-art products by:Automating build processesIncorporating static code quality toolsHelping identify code promotion qualitiesIncluding A/B, Canary, Blue/Green deployment patternsBuilding highly resilient cloud eco-systems capable of high availability and scaleShipping to Azure, AWS, or GCPWith Docker containers, Kubernetes as an orchestrator, or as full VMs with base imagesQualifications:7-10 years of production experience working as a Software Engineer or DevOps EngineerYou're smart and can demonstrate itYou want to make things work. Coming up with creative solutions comes naturally to you and you're comfortable being set loose without a lot of directionExperience with public cloud (AWS or GCP) and Agile environmentsStrong CI/CD and Linux experienceExperience with containerization using Docker and KubernetesExperience with a service mesh using Istio or equivalentExperience with scripting and orchestration including Terraform, Ansible, or equivalentExperience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, AppDynamics, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalentExperience with embedded or edge compute systemsWe think the knowledge acquired earning an BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field would be of great value in this position, but if you're smart and have the experience that backs up your abilities, for us, talent trumps degree every time.Required Skills: needs Shell, golang and heavy containerization.
