The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual who is excited to showcase their analytical skills and business-minded background within the fast-paced world of third-party logistics and freight forwarding. The contributions from this internship will directly impact Mohawk's ability to provide exceptional service to our clients and maintain our reputation as a leader in the industry.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Support branch operations with respect to imports, including opening shipment files and filing ISF entriesEfficiently match available freight loads with available carrier optionsTrack shipments, contact carriers, perform data entry and analysis to support decision making, filing, and other duties as instructed by Leadership teamAssist with industry research using the internetParticipate in meetings to observe company process and enhance learningCommunicate regularly with carriers and agents to build long-term, trusted partnerships and sell Mohawk servicesNegotiate pricing and prepare quotes for clientsCollaborate with team members to achieve departmental goalsEducation and Experience:Matriculated rising undergraduate student majoring in business, logistics, supply chain management or related disciplineExperience in negotiating with service providers and problem solving for mutual benefit (preferred)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word and OutlookKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Must possess polished, professional communication skills, both verbal and writtenMust possess a strong attention to accuracy and detailAbility to work both independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment and be receptive to professional feedback regarding developmental opportunitiesExcellent organizational and time management skillsSelf-motivatedAbility to effectively multitaskFlexibility to adapt to changing prioritiesMohawk Global is an equal opportunity employer.
