Accounting Manager

Accounting ManagerSilgan Containers is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Waukesha, WI team. In this role, you will partner with Operations and Plant Finance to ensure financial accuracy, strengthen controls, assist with compliance, and improve accounting processes across a multi-site manufacturing environment.At Silgan, we provide our employees with stability and growth opportunities:Competitive pay with annual merit increasesMedical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance401(k) with a 6% dollar-for-dollar company matchPaid vacation, holidays, and tuition reimbursementLong-term stability with opportunities for advancement and career growth in manufacturing jobsA culture that values safety, innovation, and promoting from withinWhat You Will DoManage manufacturing and operations accounting activities, including inventory, costing, fixed assets, leases, and general accounting processesPartner with Operations and Plant Finance to evaluate financial results and identify trends.Oversee month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and review of financial performance to ensure accuracy and support business objectivesMaintain SOX compliance, internal control effectiveness, audit readiness, and public company reporting standardsServe as a subject matter expert for JD Edwards (JDE) accounting processes and system controlsCollaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, FP&A, and Plant management to improve financial transparency and consistencyCoach, and develop accounting team members while promoting accountability and continuous improvementDrive process improvements focused on accuracy, efficiency, standardization, and scalabilityWhat You BringBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldFive or more years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and financial reportingExperience working within SOX-controlled or publicly traded company environmentsDemonstrated management, coaching, or team development experienceAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsExperience with JD Edwards (JDE) or similar ERP systemsWho We AreSilgan Containers is the largest producer of metal food packaging in North America.
