At The Industrial Controls Company, we're looking for a smart, motivated accounting person who wants more than just another accounting job. We're a growing Wisconsin manufacturing company of about 50 people, and we need someone who can take ownership of our day-to-day accounting and HR responsibilities while growing into something much bigger. You don't need 20 years of experience. And you don't need a résumé containing every accounting buzzword known to mankind. You do need solid accounting fundamentals. You should understand cash, reconciliations, payroll, AP/AR and how the pieces of a company's finances fit together. Manufacturing, inventory and costing experience would be great, but we can teach you things you haven't encountered yet. What we're really looking for is aptitude, curiosity, drive and ownership. We're looking for the person who sees a number that doesn't make sense and can't resist figuring out why. Someone who doesn't just say, "Expenses were higher this month." They want to know: Why were they higher? Is it a problem? Is it temporary? What should we do about it? We don't just want someone who can tell us what happened. We want someone who wants to help decide what happens next. As you learn the company and grow into the position, you'll have the opportunity to work directly with ownership and our leadership team to analyze the business, identify trends, build forecasts and help us make better decisions. How far you take the position is up to you! And then there's the other half of the equation: your life. We work hard. We have high expectations. We hire high achievers. But we don't think working 60 hours a week makes you a high achiever. Quite frankly, if you're consistently working crazy hours, something isn't working right. Maybe you have young kids and want to coach their soccer team. Maybe you want to make it to the school play instead of watching a video of it later. Maybe you want to travel, hunt, golf, work out, ride your bike or just get home while there's still some daylight left. Your career should support your life, not consume it. We care about results, not whether you're sitting at your desk simply because the clock says you should be. With that freedom comes responsibility. We expect you to own your job, manage your workload, meet deadlines and make sure the people depending on you aren't left hanging. Do that, and you'll find a level of trust and autonomy here you can’t find anywhere else. We take the people part seriously. We only want great people on this team. Not just talented people.
