Automotive Service Technician
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Service Technician to join our team at [Dealership Name]. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards. This role requires strong technical abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on all makes and models, or as assigned by brand specialization
- Accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software
- Complete repair orders efficiently and according to manufacturer specifications and flat-rate guidelines
- Communicate clearly with service advisors and fellow technicians regarding repair needs, timelines, and parts availability
- Stay current with factory training and certifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety and environmental regulations
- Road-test vehicles to ensure repairs are completed accurately and safely
- Document all work performed and any recommendations for future maintenance or repairs
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training preferred
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications strongly preferred or willingness to obtain
- 1-3+ years of experience as an automotive technician in a dealership or independent shop
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with OEM diagnostic tools, repair software, and scan tools
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced shop environment with exposure to automotive equipment, tools, and moving vehicles
- May require evening or weekend shifts depending on dealership hours
- Must adhere to dealership dress code and safety protocols
