Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a position focused on adult to geriatric patient populations. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in a Cardiac Stepdown unit. Ideal candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with first-time travelers also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Admit and manage patients transferred from CICU, MSICU, acute care floors, and the Emergency Department.
• Provide post-operative care for patients following CABG, thoracic, and vascular surgeries.
• Monitor and treat respiratory failure with various treatment modalities (excluding invasive mechanical ventilation).
• Manage cardiac arrhythmias, DKA, GI bleeds, trauma, CVA, seizures, CIWA, metabolic disorders, renal failure, and hypertensive emergencies.
• Administer care related to sepsis and neuro disorders.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required; first-time travelers are accepted.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.

Work Environment

• The unit features a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 and accommodates a maximum of 32 beds with an average daily census of 21 patients.
• Experience with patient care technologies such as Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, AirVo, BiPap, and CPAP is preferred.

Additional Information

• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Requests for time off are limited to a maximum of 7 days.
• Expected to work every other weekend unless specified otherwise.
• Floating within the facility is required as needed, within the scope of practice.
• No call requirements.
• Holidays: If assigned during a major holiday period, the candidate is expected to work a specified number of holidays based on the assignment length.

Compliance

Full compliance is required to start on time; any delays in compliance may result in a push back of 2 weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Orientation

The number of non-billable orientation hours varies depending on the contract length (e.g., 8 hours for an 8-week assignment).
