Inspire the next generation of leaders as a health science educator at a vibrant junior high school near Berwyn, IL! This on-site opportunity offers a fulfilling contract position running through May 21, 2027, where your expertise in health science and related subjects will make a difference in students’ lives every day.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) required (no substitute licensure accepted)
- Endorsement in Health Science, or closely related fields such as chemistry, anatomy, or general science is strongly preferred
- Proven track record teaching middle or junior high students in a classroom environment
- Ability to foster an inclusive, dynamic, and engaging learning atmosphere
- Passion for curriculum development that appeals to diverse learners
Role responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive health science curriculum to junior high students, promoting inquiry and critical thinking
- Create interactive lessons that incorporate hands-on learning and real-world application of health science principles
- Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of methods, ensuring each learner achieves their potential
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to enhance the science program
- Maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with parents or guardians, and participate in school events and meetings
