 Job Description:

Our client, a small plaintiff-side firm, is seeking one highly skilled legal professional to join its Baltimore team as a Paralegal. The position will support Mass Tort and Medical Malpractice matters, seeing cases through from client intake to resolution. Candidates with relevant Personal Injury experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities:

Mass Tort and Medical Malpractice

• Manage client intake and maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the life of each matter.
• Obtain, review, organize, and summarize medical records.
• Draft and file complaints, discovery requests and responses, and summonses.
• Complete HCA filings and manage medical authorizations for Mass Tort matters.
• File documents electronically in state and federal courts.
• Prepare dictation; training will be provided.
• Organize case files, maintain comprehensive databases, and manage deadlines.
• Support attorneys throughout the case process, from intake through resolution.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years of legal support experience.
• Strong litigation background; plaintiff-side experience preferred.
• Medical Malpractice experience preferred; relevant Personal Injury experience may be considered.
• Mass Tort experience, including HCA filings, strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and experience handling medical record requests, reviews, organization, and summaries.
• Proficiency with state and federal e-filing procedures.
• Experience with HCA filings and medical records management.
• Experience with drafting complaints, preparing discovery, and summons preparation. Dictation experience is helpful, but training will be provided.
• Courtroom experience is not required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, multitasking, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with FileVine or similar case-management software is a plus.
