About the Role:

The Accounting Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the finance department by managing and processing financial transactions accurately and efficiently. This position ensures that accounts payable and receivable are handled in a timely manner, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The Accounting Assistant will maintain general accounting records, assist with reconciliations, and support month-end and year-end closing activities. The Accounting Assistant contributes to the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial data, enabling informed decision-making by management.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting roles.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
• Ability to follow written instructions
• Ability to quickly sort and organize data in excel
• Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
• Prior accounting experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn and grow with the company

Responsibilities:

• Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and payment requests to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Manage accounts payable by preparing and processing payments to vendors and suppliers in a timely manner.
• Handle accounts receivable tasks including invoicing customers, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
• Maintain and update general ledger entries and assist with account reconciliations
• Collaborate with team members to meet or exceed deadlines
• Support the finance team during month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary documentation and reports.

What success looks like:

Within the first three months, you will have a working knowledge of Anthologic's accounting processes and be familiar with Accounting's standard operating procedures. Utilizing your resources you should be able to independently process payable invoices with minimal errors or corrections.

You should also be able to independently process multiple billing batches a month while utilizing internal guides and asking questions. Workload will be scaled throughout onboarding and the expectation is to meet set deadlines and keep your teammates and manager informed for progress or set backs in real time.


Success in this role will be defined by strong organization, dependable follow-through, clear communication and a willingness to learn. Over time, the assistant should begin anticipating team needs and taking greater ownership of assigned responsibilities.
