Step into a meaningful role supporting students in Autistic Support classrooms as a contracted Special Education Teacher. This opportunity lasts through May 2027 and is perfect for educators passionate about making a daily difference in the lives of students. Based near Gettysburg, PA, this position offers you the chance to collaborate with dedicated paraprofessional staff in an engaging and supportive environment.
You’ll work onsite at the Franklin Learning Center, partnering with another Special Education Teacher to deliver top-quality education and personalized support. The school provides PCA (Personal Care Assistant) support in all Autistic Support classrooms, helping you focus on what matters most—student learning and growth.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Pennsylvania teaching certificate required
- Previous experience in Special Education, particularly in autistic support settings, is highly valued
- Ability to foster supportive, inclusive classroom environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to individualized education plans and diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students in Autistic Support classrooms
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Work closely with PCAs and interdisciplinary teams to enhance learning outcomes
- Utilize evidence-based teaching methods tailored to student strengths and challenges
- Monitor and document student progress, communicating regularly with parents and guardians
