This role is crucial in producing high-quality images while adhering to established policies and procedures under general supervision.Essential Functions and Responsibilities\n \n Specializes in performing diagnostic studies in nuclear medicine imaging.\n Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence.\n Operates and maintains all assigned nuclear scanning imaging equipment, ensuring proper functionality.\n Performs diagnostic studies by measuring and preparing concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specified body areas to obtain necessary images as requested by a physician.\n Identifies, prepares, and/or administers medications/substances as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner within the technologist’s scope of practice.\n Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self, while complying with regulatory standards and protocols.\n Maintains all required documentation, logs, charts, and records in both paper and electronic formats.\n Ensures adequate supply of consumables to perform quality testing.\n Conducts routine maintenance and function checks on all imaging equipment following established protocols.\n May assist in other areas of radiology as needed.\n Performs other related duties as required or directed.\n Shift and Call Requirements\n This position follows a schedule of Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. There is a call requirement every other week, with on-call hours extending from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM during the week, and from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM on weekends.Qualifications\n \n Graduation from an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine is required.\n Registration in Nuclear Medicine with the ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) is required.\n Current BLS certification is required.\n \n \n Wellspring Nurse Source Job ID #37722897.
