Volt is immediately hiring Direct Placement opportunities for ALL levels of CNC Machinists for 1st and 2nd shift in Coon Rapids, MN.

Sign-On Bonus | 4-Day Workweek

We are hiring all levels of CNC Swiss Machinists to support a fast-growing manufacturing operation in Minnesota. This is a long-term opportunity driven by facility expansion and workforce transitions (retirements), offering strong stability and career growth. This role focuses heavily on Swiss CNC machining (L20), with full responsibility across setup, operation, and precision machining.

Schedules to choose from:

• 1st- 5:00 am – 3:00 pm Mon - Thurs
• 2nd-3:30 pm – 1:30 am OR 3:30 am (if 12s) Mon - Thurs
• 4th- 5:00 am – 5:00 pm Fri – Sun

Compensation & Benefits:

• $21.00 to $35.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC Swiss machines (L20), mills, lathes, and EDM equipment
• Perform full machine setup, operation, and machining
• Read and interpret technical blueprints and drawings
• Conduct quality inspections on finished parts
• Perform tool changes and machine adjustments
• Complete preventative maintenance to ensure equipment performance and uptime

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience, with strong exposure to Swiss machines (L20 preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications
• Experience working with tight tolerances
• Strong machine math/shop math skills
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Precision measurement tools
  • Microscopes for inspection
• Ability to work independently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

• Experience machining medical components, instruments, or devices
• CNC programming experience
• Advanced machine setup experience
• Experience troubleshooting CNC Swiss, Mill, Lathe, and/or EDM machines
• Background in high-precision or regulated manufacturing environments
