ABOUT THE ROLE

The Junior Photographer role is a full-time position that supports the in-house creative team in producing high-quality visual content for digital and print applications. This role assists with product photography, photo editing, and color correction while helping maintain the visual standards of a luxury brand. The ideal candidate has a refined eye for design, color, composition, and detail; is highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop; and possesses a strong interest in photography, interiors, textiles, and craftsmanship-driven products.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Photography

• Assist with product photography for web, e-commerce, and digital platforms
• Support styled photography for social media, marketing campaigns, and promotional content, particularly within the interior design and luxury lifestyle space
• Assist with studio setup, lighting, surface styling, and shoot preparation as needed
• Work under the direction of the lead photographer to execute cohesive, on-brand imagery
• Edit and color-correct product photography to maintain accurate color representation and material integrity
• Perform photo retouching for digital and print use
• Maintain and organize the photography archive and digital asset library
• Ensure files are properly named, formatted, and delivered according to established specifications and workflows
• Collaborate with the creative and marketing teams on shoots, production needs, and ad-hoc projects as assigned
• Maintain studio organization and equipment readiness
• Participate in occasional local location shoots throughout the Los Angeles area

$24 to $26 hourly

 Samuel & Sons, in good faith, believes that this posted range of compensation is the accurate range for this role at this location at the time of this posting. Samuel & Sons may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

REQUIREMENTS

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education & Experience

• Degree in Photography, Visual Arts, Design, or a related field preferred but not required; equivalent professional experience and a strong portfolio will be fully considered
• Portfolio demonstrating photography and retouching skills, including before-and-after examples
• Experience or strong interest in interior design, luxury products, textiles, materials, or craftsmanship-focused brands is highly desirable

Technical Skills

• Solid understanding of photography fundamentals, lighting, composition, and color accuracy
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, and Illustrator
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
• Basic photo retouching and digital asset management experience
• Strong understanding of file organization and production workflows

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods during photography sessions and studio productions
• Occasional local travel within the Los Angeles area for location shoots
• Ability to safely handle photography equipment, props, and studio materials
