Real Estate Appraiser I

Position Overview Prince George County is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Real Estate Appraiser I. The role involves conducting field data collection and less‑complex appraisal work, creating and maintaining computerized files and records, and assisting the public with real estate appraisal questions. Responsibilities Conduct field data collection. Assist with less‑complex appraisal assignments. Create and maintain computerized files and records. Provide assistance to the public with real estate appraisal inquiries. Qualifications and Knowledge General knowledge of real estate appraisal processes. Understanding of building and land values. Knowledge of state laws, charter provisions, and county ordinances related to real property assessment. Knowledge of USPAP. Ability to analyze value‑influencing factors and exercise judgment in property valuation. Ability to write clear and concise reports. Ability to interact effectively with the public and associates. Computer proficiency and training in CAMA software; ability to maintain CAMA databases. Ability to pass IAAO 101 within the first year of employment. Education and Experience High‑school graduate with two (2) years of real‑property appraisal experience, or College graduate with courses in real‑estate appraisal, or Equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Other Requirements Pre‑employment physical, drug testing, and criminal background check, including fingerprinting. Valid driver’s license in the Commonwealth of Virginia. EOE. #J-18808-Ljbffr
