Sun Chemical Corporation is a subsidiary of Sun Chemical Group Coöperatief U.A., the Netherlands, and is headquartered in Parsippany, New Jersey, U.S.A.Title: Finished Product PackerLocation: Valparaiso, INPay: $20.84Shift: 1st Shift - 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday.OverviewUnder the direct supervision of the Supply Chain & Warehouse Operations Lead, the Finished Product Packer is responsible for the timely and proper packaging of the final product and maintaining a clean workspace.Essential Job FunctionsWorking safely, following all plant rules, reporting all near misses and unsafe conditions to the supervisor.Keeping work areas clean and organized.Monitoring equipment condition and communicating any deficiencies to the supervisor.Packing 25kg (55lbs.) bags, boxes, and drums.Operating forklift.Operating packing, milling, and grinding equipment.Completing pack-out sheets; preparing samples for pre-ship.Managing material to and from warehouses.Knowing the difference in products.Knowing how to pack boxes/drums/bags and verify quantity.Knowing how to label products/packing.Identifying different pallets for products.Understanding the importance of keeping contamination and foreign objects out of the customer product/packing.Completes any and all other duties, as required or assigned.Physical DemandsFrequent lifting (34 - 66% of the day) Constant standing (66 – 100% of the day) Frequent overhead reaching (34 - 66% of the day) Constant use of upper extremities, i.e., hands and arms (66 – 100% of the day)Knowledge/Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED preferred, or pass a pre-employment screening assessmentBenefitsWe offer a range of market-competitive total rewards that include merit increases, paid holidays, Paid Time Off, medical, dental, vision, short and long term disability benefits, 401(k)+match and life insurance.
