Community Service Officer

Salary: $27.12 - $37.29 Position Summary: The Village is accepting applications for a part-time Community Service Officer in the Police Department. This position assists patrol officers with non-active calls for service by preparing reports, assisting motorists, collecting information, and managing general service calls. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with municipal parking ordinances through accurate enforcement of the Village code and ordinances. A successful candidate will be able to conduct investigations into complaints and minor crimes, be proficient with technical software, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Essential Functions: Responds to walk-in requests for service and to on-scene calls for service, including but not limited to theft, motor accidents, and criminal damage Prepares reports on theft, motor accidents, criminal damages, and other service calls Requirements: High school diploma or GED required, accompanied by two to five years of general work experience. A combination of education and experience that produces the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is also acceptable. Valid Illinois Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.
