Staff Supervision and Development:

  • Supervise and support program staff including Wabanaki Wise workers, Veteran Services Coordinator, and other prevention program personnel.
  • Conduct regular supervision meetings and performance evaluations.
  • Support staff professional development, training, and capacity building.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and mission-driven team environment.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts.

Elder Prevention and Support:

  • Guide the implementation of culturally relevant elder wellness initiatives, such as fall prevention, suicide prevention, aging in place, community connection, and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure monthly elder activities, wellness events, outreach efforts, and educational opportunities are effectively delivered.
  • Support the development of culturally appropriate fall prevention education, safety resources, and caregiver supports.
  • Collaborate with tribal Elder Coordinators and tribal community representatives throughout the Wabanaki Territories.
  • Promote intergenerational activities that strengthen connections between youth and Elders.

  • Strengthen partnerships that improve access to benefits, healthcare, employment, housing, and peer support services.
  • Assist with developing strategic plans and sustainable approaches to Veteran Wellness Programming.
  • Promote culturally based programming and prevention activities that support Veteran well-being.

Community Prevention and Wellness:

  • Lead and oversee prevention initiatives focused on substance use, alcohol, and suicide prevention and promote community safety.
  • Coordinate prevention education campaigns, outreach efforts, and community engagement activities.
  • Foster partnerships with Tribal governments, public safety agencies, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
  • Ensuring prevention messaging reflects Wabanaki values, strengths, and cultural teachings.
  • Monitor program outcomes and identify opportunities for community-driven prevention strategies.

Community Engagement and Partnership Development:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with Tribal leaders, Elders, Veterans, community members, and key stakeholders.
  • Represent WPHW at meetings, community events, conferences, and regional or national gatherings.
  • Develop partnerships that enhance program visibility, sustainability, and impact.
  • Facilitate collaboration across WPHW departments and external partners.

Data, Evaluation & Reporting:

  • Collaborate with WPH grant administration and knowledge management teams to establish outcome measures and evaluation processes.
  • Utilize assessments, surveys, community feedback, and program data to guide decision making.
  • Prepare reports required by funders, leadership, and organizational partners.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to improve program effectiveness and demonstrate impact.

Fiscal and Grant Management:

  • Assist in developing and monitoring program budgets.
  • Ensure responsible stewardship of grant and organizational resources.
  • Contribute to grant applications, progress reports, and funding proposals.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets and work plans.
