Event Manager

The Events Manager works with all members of the Advancement team to plan and execute events that are designed to cultivate, recruit, solicit, and steward key stakeholders, donors and alumni. In addition, the Events Manager assists with personally cultivating, soliciting and stewarding stakeholders who can support events through underwriting, donating, and volunteering. Manages event budgets and oversees event-related revenue and expenses for Advancement Department events. Develops and manages event timelines, ensuring effective coordination among volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Provides leadership and oversight for assigned events from planning through execution and post-event evaluation. Coordinates and directs staff, volunteers, and event support personnel, ensuring all participants understand their roles and responsibilities. Leads the fundraising efforts for KnightWalk, partnering with students to achieve fundraising goals while collaborating with colleagues on event planning and execution. Directs the annual Dominican Auction, working closely with volunteer leadership to develop and implement event strategy. Responsible for achieving revenue goals, managing expenses, securing volunteer support, and overseeing all event logistics, including three alumni benefit events. Directs the annual Bill Crowley Scholarship Golf Outing, including event planning, website management, participant solicitations, ticket sales, expense management, and day‑of‑event execution. Assists in planning and coordinating community‑building and stewardship events, including volunteer appreciation events, stakeholder socials, donor recognition events, and campaign kickoffs. Ensures all Advancement events reflect the mission, values, and brand standards of Dominican High School while delivering a high‑quality experience for attendees. Supports the Director of Advancement and President with special projects and other duties as assigned. Personnel/Administrative Establish written goals and review periodically with the Director of Advancement. Create a working environment that is respectful, inclusive, and cohesive within the Advancement department and peers. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Demonstrated ability to achieve goals, influence others, and meet deadlines. Ability to effectively analyze and utilize data to increase productivity and enhance results. Ability to communicate creatively and articulately with a variety of constituents. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Basic understanding of fundraising, fundraising cycle, and the willingness to learn more. High comfort level and proficiency with current technology. Highly organized, strong ability to multi‑task and work well under pressure. Ability to effectively collaborate within a small team environment. Demonstrated ability to be a leader on projects. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of two years’ professional experience with event planning in a non‑profit or corporate setting preferred.
