Security Officer

Job Summary
Provides security, safety and guest services to enhance the overall environment for all patients, employees, physicians, visitors, and other guests of Vassar Brothers Medical Center and its corporate affiliates.
Responsibilities
- Provides security services to maintain a reasonably safe environment.
- Maintains all assigned equipment to ensure proper functioning of all shifts.
- Provides other safety/security functions as requested by the director or manager to assist with routine services.
- Promotes a safe and efficient working environment by adhering to medical center and department policies and procedures.
- Responds to various emergency situations, including hazardous material spills, to eliminate or minimize unsafe conditions.
- Demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, family members, visitors and Medical Center personnel.
Qualifications
- Education: Requires high school diploma or equivalent. General knowledge of simple mathematics and writing skills.
- Experience: Requires a minimum of six months of experience in security.
- License: Valid N.Y.S. Security Guard Registration card. Valid N.Y.S. driving license with a good driving record.

- Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
