Dev Ops Engineer

DevOps EngineerThe position of DevOps Engineer has the primary purpose of providing reliable platforms for running, building, deploying, and maintaining software and applications that support business processes. In addition, this role is responsible to uphold our core values: Ethics, Engagement, and Excellence.Essential Functions:Builds and maintains CI/CD processes for in-house developed applicationsPerform root cause analysis of production issuesWork with the development team to architect scalable and maintainable solutionsAutomate manual IT processesMaintain documentation for servers/solutions in useMaintain source control softwareProvide support to developersSpecial assignments requested by Technical LeadershipQualification/Requirements:Working knowledge of administering public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)Working knowledge of databases and SQLGood knowledge of a scripting language (Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.)Experience with a configuration management solution (Ansible, Puppet, Salt, etc.)Experience with a container orchestration platform (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc.)Experience managing Windows and GNU/Linux systemsEffective communication, creativity, problem solving, and logical thinking are all necessary skills.Education/Experience:Bachelor's Degree preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience with Software Design, Software Documentation, Software Testing, Software Maintenance, Software Development Process, Software Requirements, Teamwork, General Consulting Skills, Software ArchitectureAFS is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind: AFS is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all teammates and to provide teammates with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
