Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description
This role supports a high-volume mattress manufacturing facility that has recently invested in advanced machinery and robotics to increase plant efficiency. As a Maintenance Technician, you perform preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, and provide technical support to manufacturing teams to keep production running safely and reliably.
Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on industrial manufacturing equipment, machinery, and robotics to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose difficult and recurring mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic problems on production equipment.
• Carry out repairs and adjustments on mechanical and electrical components, ensuring equipment operates within safety and performance standards.
• Provide technical support to Manufacturing Technicians, Value Stream Leaders, and Engineers in areas such as production, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, and product development.
• Use schematics, diagrams, blueprints, written instructions, and verbal descriptions to perform testing, troubleshooting, and repair work on electronic and mechanical systems.
• Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data using established formulas and procedures, including performing detailed mathematical calculations as needed.
• Complete assigned work in an orderly and expeditious manner while following all safety precautions and adhering to established company and departmental policies.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability, production efficiency, and safety.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and test results accurately to support traceability and future troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to prioritize maintenance tasks and coordinate work with production schedules.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance (PMs) on production machinery and equipment.
• Strong mechanical skills, including repair and adjustment of mechanical systems and components.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills, including working with industrial electrical systems and controls.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues and implement effective repair solutions.
• Proficiency in performing detailed mathematical calculations related to maintenance and technical data.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to understand work instructions, safety procedures, and technical documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or technical certifications in maintenance trades, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, robotics, or pneumatics are preferred.
• Two or more years of relevant training in one or more maintenance trades, specifically mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, robotics, and pneumatics.
• Knowledge of spreadsheet or database software for tracking maintenance activities and technical data.
• Previous experience in bedding manufacturing or familiarity with sewing equipment is a strong plus but not required.
• Ability to follow established company and departmental policies and safety procedures.
• Comfort working with automated machinery and robotics in a production environment.
• Adaptability to changing production needs and schedules in a fast-paced facility.

Work Environment
This position is based in an industrial mattress manufacturing facility that uses a mix of traditional production equipment and newer automated machinery and robotics. You work a full-time, 40-hour week with a 30-minute unpaid break each day. The schedule transitions over time based on operational needs: approximately weeks 1-2 are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weeks 3-4 are 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and week 5 and beyond are 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The environment is typical of a manufacturing plant, with active production lines, mechanical and electrical equipment, and a strong emphasis on safety procedures and adherence to established policies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riviera Beach, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
