Team member is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of equipment for the purposes fine grading Core Competencies:Effective communication skills; must be able to understand and speak EnglishWorking knowledge of all applicable OSHA standardsAttention to detail and accuracyWillingness to react to changes in priorities Core Duties:Be a mentor to other team members by teaching them proper techniques of fine grade workBe punctual, dependable and professional at all timesWork with cost effectiveness, profitability and safety in mindLead by exampleLead the safety effort by recognizing and correcting hazards as soon as they are present Arrive at work prior to designated work start timeAttend daily safety and project coordination meetingProficient in safe operation of MotorgraderCheck fluid levels daily before useCapable of fine grading areas within ½" of set gradeExperience operating the motorgrader utilizing GPS, automatics and/or grade stakesAbility to cut grade under a string lineAble to set/check grade for curb/sub-grade and pavingAble to efficiently fine grade sub-grade and stone base within tolerance with motorgraderAble to fine grade free hand without the use of GPS of automaticsLook after small crew for fine grading operationsProficient in working with ABC base course; putting down setting up and fine grading for pavingHave paved areas ready for paving free of any areas that may potentially pond waterEnsure equipment stays in clean working order and report any issues to Site LeaderRestore post construction work to original condition or betterCommunicate time away from work with your team leader and other team members with sufficient notice to make plans for changing personnel to focus on the prioritiesAble and willingness to work other tasks assigned when motorgrader operation is not neededWillingness to work hours as required  Education/Training/Certification:OSHA TrainingMSHA Part 46 TrainingFirst Aid/CPR * Sanford Contractors is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer* Labor Activities– Physical Requirements Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders regularly. Work involves frequent shoveling, raking, using hand tools and handling materials in and around trenches or uneven terrain. Requires standing or walking for extended periods and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
