SUMMARY

Our client, a well-established Connecticut-based law firm with a strong presence in New Haven and Hartford, is seeking a Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney or Counsel to join its New Haven office. This is a partnership-track opportunity (or Counsel-level role) for a mid-career litigator looking to handle sophisticated matters, work closely with clients, and grow within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution, including strategy development, discovery, motions practice, and trial preparation

- Handle complex commercial disputes, including breach of contract claims and business torts

- Represent clients in employment-related litigation matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, wage and hour, and restrictive covenant disputes

- Manage probate and estate litigation matters such as will contests, fiduciary disputes, and conservatorships

- Take and defend depositions, draft and argue motions, and participate in hearings, arbitrations, and trials

- Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic legal guidance

- Collaborate with partners and team members on case strategy while maintaining ownership of assigned matters

QUALIFICATIONS

- 5-15 years of litigation experience

- Admitted to the Connecticut Bar

- Strong experience in commercial litigation, business disputes, employment litigation, or probate/estate litigation

- Demonstrated courtroom and hearing experience, including depositions and motions practice

- Prior experience at a litigation boutique or full-service law firm

- Ability to independently manage cases while working collaboratively within a team

- Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
