Location: Kirksville, Missouri, 63501
Duration: 13-Week Contract
Pay Range Local: $30/hr - $34/hr W2
Pay Range Travel: $1300 - $1400/WK approx
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care for patients in an Inpatient Rehabilitation (Swing Bed) unit. This role primarily supports swing bed patients while also assisting with Medical-Surgical patients based on patient census needs.
The ideal candidate is flexible, team-oriented, and comfortable working in both rehabilitation and med-surg settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for up to 10 inpatient rehabilitation (Swing Bed) patients.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and report changes to the care team.
- Administer medications, including IV medications, as ordered.
- Assist with developing and implementing patient care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Float to Med-Surg units as needed within current competencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to facility policies and patient safety standards.
Requirements
- Active LPN license.
- Minimum 1 year of LPN experience required.
- Knowledge and experience administering IV medications required.
- Current AHA BLS certification required.
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work in a flexible environment and adapt to changing patient volumes.
