Skilled Crew Highway Maintenance Position Summary Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Skilled Crew Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform advanced maintenance operations in the Houston, TX area during the day shift, mid shift, and night shift. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, signs, guardrail and/or drainage and adherence to all applicable federal, state and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Required Experience Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, & various small hand tools Preferred Experience Roadway maintenance experience CDL license a plus Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator Air compressor operations familiarity Construction or Roadway maintenance experience Guardrail and Sign installation experience Concrete forming/repair experience MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses) Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required Clean driving record is essential Must pass criminal background check Qualifications High School Diploma/GED Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing) Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations Carry out simple arithmetic functions Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology Ability to use smart phone and applications Ability to adjust to changing work schedule Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds Ability to operate hand/power tools Schedule Full time; Day, Mid and Night shift available. Must be able to work weather events such as snow, ice, and floods. Normal day shift hours are M-F 7:30-4pm. Compensation The minimum pay rate is $15/hr with no experience required.
