Position: Pediatric Care Tech – Pediatric ICU Location: RWJ New Brunswick, New Jersey, 1 Robert Wood Johnson Place, New Brunswick, NJ 08901 Shift: Evening (3 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.) Pay Range: $20.11 – $28.67 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience). Job Overview Support pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit by providing direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, and performing nursing responsibilities such as taking vital signs, monitoring EKG, and performing phlebotomy. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Basic Life Support (CPR) certification by American Heart Association. Preferred Qualifications Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program. Certified Nursing Assistant certification. Scheduling Requirements Evening shift; 40 hours per week (5 shifts), 3 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., includes every other weekend and some holidays. Essential Functions Assist patients with daily living activities and provide nursing care such as vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, and bedside care. Provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients in the unit. Maintain effective communication with patients and nursing staff regarding patient status. Participate in collaboration of patients’ care plans from admission to discharge, ensuring safe transitions. Perform other related duties as needed to support patient safety and outcomes. Other Duties Additional duties may be assigned at any time as necessary for the performance of the job.
