Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical (Night Shift)

ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical (Night Shift) in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

Rotating shifts: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30); Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30). Candidates must be available to work every other holiday and are required to cover weekends with a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per contract.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Medical-Surgical unit will provide comprehensive nursing care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients in post-operative settings including joint replacement and weight loss management. The RN will manage care utilizing the Cerner charting system and will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, providing updates to the healthcare team.
• Perform procedures such as central line blood draws, pre/post-operative care, and wound management.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of overall nursing experience in a medical-surgical setting.
• Experience with a patient ratio of 6:1.
• Proficiency in using the Cerner charting system.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active PA or Compact RN license required at submission.
• AHA certifications (BLS) must be current at the time of submission.
