Registered Nurse Acute Rehab

Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members. Scope of Work Assess, recognize, and address patients' psychological and physical needs. Foster quality of care with the best interests of patients and their families in mind. Communicate compassionately and effectively. Assist in developing individualized treatment plans. Comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines. Oversee care delivered by LPNs and/or CNAs. Participate in clinical team conferences. Follow hospital, regulatory, and professional guidelines, policies, and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice. BLS/ACLS certification required upon hire or within 60 days with prior approval. Additional certification (ACLS/NRP/PALS) as appropriate for the unit or service. Ability to evaluate patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment. Manual dexterity for operating delicate equipment and frequent computer use. Physical capability to lift and transfer patients, manipulate supplies, push/pull gurneys, and stand extended periods. Education and BSN Progression Registered Nurse with an ASN/ADN must complete a BSN degree within four (4) years from the date of hire unless the RN has a minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven continuous RN experience in an acute care setting. Failure to obtain a BSN within that timeframe may result in suspension or termination of employment. Register nurses who take legally protected leave during the four-year period may have the period extended by a comparable amount of time. Registered Nurses employed by St. Vincent, Good Samaritan, St. Joseph, or Lutheran Medical Centers as of September 1, 2014, with only an ASN/ADN will be exempt from this requirement. Registered Nurses employed by Holy Rosary, Platte Valley, St. Mary’s, Home Health, and TSFP as of December 31, 2017, with only an ASN/ADN will be exempt from this requirement. Compensation and Schedule Location: St. Marys Regional Hospital, Grand Junction, Colorado. Scheduled weekly hours: 36. Hourly rate: $36.71 – $56.17 (actual rate depends on experience).
