Business Analyst / LIMS Analyst DeveloperClient: State of Utah – Department of Technology Services (DTS) / Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Location: Utah, USA Work Model: Remote – Candidate must be in Utah Job Type: Contract Duration: 1 Year Employment Type: W2 W2 Rate: $75/hrPosition OverviewOur client, the State of Utah Department of Technology Services (DTS), is seeking a Business Analyst / LIMS Analyst Developer to support and enhance LabWare LIMS v8, integrations, workflow optimization, reporting, and laboratory informatics initiatives.The selected candidate will work closely with scientists, the LIMS Supervisor, laboratory leadership, and laboratory personnel to communicate and implement enhancements to the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).The Utah Public Health Laboratory uses this system to house the configuration, rules, tests, and test data required to generate laboratory results for the following areas:Infectious Disease, including: Bioterrorism Response Lab, Chemical Threats Response Lab, Next Generation Sequencing LabToxicologyEnvironmental ChemistryThis role will work closely with the Section Chief Scientist, LIMS Supervisor, and laboratory personnel involved with specimen testing . The Business Analyst will coordinate necessary system changes to support the delivery of laboratory results.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and capable of delivering required solutions to laboratory sections.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport and enhance LabWare LIMS v8Support API integrationsProvide HL7 integration supportGather, analyze, and document business and technical requirementsCreate user storiesCreate test scriptsPerform User Acceptance Testing (UAT)Develop and maintain workflow documentationTrain end users on complex software systemsSupport system performance improvementsWork closely with scientists, the LIMS Supervisor, laboratory leadership, and laboratory personnelCoordinate necessary system changes to deliver laboratory resultsCommunicate technical concepts and system changes effectively to non-technical users and testing personnelSupport laboratory informatics initiatives and workflow optimizationAssist with reporting-related initiativesEvaluate and test software functionality to ensure it meets business needsIdeal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will have:Experience programming, implementing, and maintaining complex software systemsAbility to determine user needs and translate them into business and technical requirementsExperience evaluating and testing software functionality to meet business needsAbility to simultaneously manage multiple projects or tasksExperience teaching end users how to use complex software systemsKnowledge of flow diagram software and the ability to create workflowsStrong ability to organize and write clear documentation outlining objectivesAbility to understand both high-level concepts and detailed requirements and communicate them effectively to testing personnel and leadershipAbility to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiencesStrong problem-solving skills and willingness to dive directly into complex challenges and deliver solutionsExperience working with large databases and data retrievalUnderstanding of general laboratory processes, terminology, quality standards, and regulatory requirementsRequired QualificationsBusiness Analysis experienceSQL and relational database experienceRequirements gathering and documentation experienceStrong communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projectsPreferred QualificationsLabWare LIMS experienceLaboratory Informatics backgroundKnowledge of: HL7, XML, CCDA, LOINC, SNOMED CT, ICD-10Public Health Laboratory experienceCrystal Reports experienceWork ArrangementRemote positionCandidate must be in UtahContract duration: 1 year
